Hard Work in the Sun

Hard Work in the Sun

Hard Work in the Sun

Our hotel was half way up the hill from the beach and half way down the hill from the village. To take a walk meant that which ever way you went you felt you needed the services of a sherpa!

The hotel shared a swimming pool with the one next door, both establishments being under common ownership.

The manager decided that a cast iron seat beside the pool would be better sited on the terrace above it and so the maintenance man and one of the young waiters were deputed to move it.

The effort involved in moving this very heavy item, that was too long for their trolley, was reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy's attempt to move a piano. They almost lost it down hill - it was one of those rare times when I really regretted having left my cam-corder at home!

Here they are half way up the slope and they did actually make it to the top in the end.
