Church Towers stand out against the blue skies or hide behind the fronds of the greenery of the trees.

The pristine white tower looks like a decoration on a cake.

This gateway of the Old Town of Faro is topped by a Stork’s nest. The birds are a protected species and as they return to the same nests each year they cannot be removed. A factory chimney capped by such a nests still stands although the factory has gone - so long as the storks nest there, the chimney has to remain!

This gateway stands across the road from the old Slave Market in Lagos.
