Eastern Algrave

The Eastern Algarve has a low lying coastline with a shore that is comprised of mud flats and salt pans. Many varieties of birds feed on the tidal mud flats while the production of sea salt is part of the local economy.

Off shore there are islands that have sand dunes and sandy beaches which are popular with the locals and tourists alike during the hot summer months.
